Cannabis has come along in leaps and bounds in quality since the early days, when the only Kush you could get your hands on looked like grass clippings and was about as potent. Breeders have been perfecting their craft in order to create the strongest, most dank, delicious strains possible. As a result, we’re now living in the golden era of good bud. Even though there are a lot of factors to what makes a quality strain, THC content remains king. After all, why smoke weed if you’re not trying to get hiiiigh (of course there are other reasons to smoke, but for the purposes of this article, just bear with me).
So, without further ado, here is a list of some of the strongest strains of cannabis you can get your hands on today. But be warned, here there be monsters
Girl Scout Cookies
An Indica-dominant hybrid, GSC owes its potency to its parents, namely OG Kush and Durban Poison. Even though the high will leave you feeling euphoric and fully relaxed, the high THC content means that this strain is for experienced smokers only. This strain can help with chronic pain, nausea, and appetite loss.

Death Star
To put it mildly, this weed stanks. A cross between Sensi Star and Sour Diesel, this strain could scare Luke Skywalker, Yoda, and any other red eye jedi in the galaxy. This Indica strain works as well during the day as it does at night, and will leave you feeling relaxed, happy, and euphoric.

A grower’s dream, this strain has a 9-10 week flowering time, with very high yields. It also lives up to its name, as the first thing you will notice when smelling this bud is a distinct citrus aroma, with a bit of a cheesy undertone. It owes this to its lineage, as it is the result of crossbreeding Lemon Skunk and Cheese. Use this strain to combat stress, physical discomfort, or appetite loss.
